Health, Aged Care & Social Assistance

Project overview

‘Shaping the Future Health Workforce for Murrindindi’ project reviewed current service delivery and workforce, considered alternative service models and created a shared vision for the future of health services across existing services

Status:

    • Project is overseen by the Murrindindi Health Network, with support from Council
    • Received a grant from Victorian State Government’s Community Development Fund to prepare a comprehensive Strategy for workforce planning across all our various health, aged care and social assistance services. This Strategy has been finalised and presented to Council.
    • In coming months, the group will work on a business case for a local training facility.

Overview

The health, aged care, and social assistance sector faces challenges due to an aging population, limited access to specialist services, and a shortage of qualified nurses. Local service providers are collaborating to find innovative new working models to meet and exceed these challenges.

There are opportunities and sufficient scale to form partnerships with expertise from outside the corridor to help design new service models and test new processes.

Shaping Murrindindi’s Future project is proudly supported by the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action, RMIT University and Murrindindi Shire Council.
