This project unites and connects locals who care about the future of their community. The project encourages creative and innovative thinking towards practical future concepts to build capacity and support resilient, connected and thriving local communities.

This will empower communities who are directly impacted by the transition away from native timber harvesting. In particular, the areas of Marysville, Buxton, Taggerty and Alexandra will identify strengths, assets and develop opportunities for innovative diversification. The project aims to facilitate engagement and collaboration with community, business, local industries, education and government.

The project is supported by the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action, RMIT University and Murrindindi Shire Council.

Two workshops will be held where community can learn more about the project and hear from Paul Ryan, Director of the Resilience Centre, as he explains the three horizons approach to exploring pathways towards positive futures. Come along to either of the workshops held on Friday May 19 @ Marysville Golf Club, or Saturday May 20 @ Bonfire Station in Taggerty. Registration is required for catering purposes. Dinner and drinks will be provided at both events.

Shaping Murrindindi’s Future project is proudly supported by the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action, RMIT University and Murrindindi Shire Council.
